LOMASNEY CONSULTANCY- Independent European Travel Consultant

After 30 years in the Travel Trade, working firstly as a European Tour Guide and subsequently for 20 years as a European wide hotel and river cruise contractor, I have started my own consultancy.

I am working with River Cruise ships and unique quality hotels, all over Europe, promoting these products to Tour Operators, private individuals and business clients .As well as having excellent connections with the owners of European River Cruisers, I have a vast network of contacts with high quality castle hotels, luxury properties and traditional family run hotels located in beautiful scenic areas across Europe.

A number of these Holiday ideas are new to the British market and are owned by personal contacts I have built up over many years in the business. These products include:-

Self drive vintage cars in Austria

Private fjord Skiing and private boat hire on the spectacular Norwegian fjords

Wild Wolf Trekking in Norway

A luxury Villa complex in Tuscany

Deluxe Vienna Christmas market and all year round short breaks, with unique sightseeing content

An utterly charming four star castle hotel located in rolling countryside, previously voted “The best four star hotel in Austria”

A wonderfully secluded Manor house, converted in to a deluxe hotel, located in the Estonian countryside

A Mediaeval castle, once home of the infamous Robber Barons, converted in to a luxury hotel, with a most unique location on the hill side overlooking the River Rhine, vineyard clad slopes and ancient castles.

An ancient convent transformed in to a five star hotel located in one of Europe’s best preserved mediaeval towns in southern Bohemia in the Czech Republic

Traditional Spanish Haciendas and a private wine club in Madrid offering wine seminars and local food and tradition.

And many more fantastic holidays experiences.

Focus on two of the unique products

Muhldorf Castle Austria

The four star castle hotel run personally by the Castle owners is located deep in the rolling Austrian countryside, within easy reach of Linz airport. The hotel consists of several charming buildings within the Castle grounds, all offering superbly appointed guest rooms. The hotel’s facilities include a first class restaurant with a charming summer terrace, an outdoor swimming pool in attractive grounds and a beauty spa. The hotel also has its own riding stables offering riding and instruction to hotel guests and Castle Muhldorf is situated a stones throw away from an accessible 27 hole golf course ( 18 & 9 holes )

The Castle hotel can offer expert wine tasting, gourmet candle light dinners, countryside walks, bike hire and golf tournaments at the 27 hole course.

The Castle’s main building houses a permanent exhibition of furniture from the renowned designer “Muhlbock”. The furniture can also be purchased by Hotel guests.

So a perfect hotel for both leisure clients and Business groups wishing to offer training or company incentives in one of my very favourite European hotels encountered after thirty years in the business.

Muhldorf Sports Arena

Muhldorf Castle Hotel has also recently built with the Castle grounds a “state of the art” football pitch constructed to the highest European standards, measuring 68m x 105m, plus a smaller training pitch measuring 50m x 20m.The hotel is offering at a very reasonable price training weeks to professional football teams, and sports associations, including full board and twice daily cleaning of the sports kit. Scs Naples and FC Augsburg are amongst the teams who have already enjoyed this facilities. The hotel is now keen to attract British clubs with the great combination of first class football pitches, a secluded location and close proximity to a fabulous user friendly golf course.

Alegria River Cruise Ship

The Alegria is to my knowledge the only first class river cruise ship sailing on European waterways specially adapted for disabled passengers. A wonderful opportunity for an association, tour company or travel organiser to offer an exciting innovative product to the disabled holiday market.

The ship has 1o spacious deluxe cabins with a separate shower and toilet both totally accessible by wheel chair, plus a further 22 cabins which are wheel chair accessible. The ships spacious lifts can take passengers in wheelchairs or electric scooters from their cabin deck to the promenade deck were the first class restaurant; lounge bar and library are located. The lifts also go up to the large sun deck. In other words the ships full facilities and show deck are completely accessible to wheel chairs users and passengers on electric scooters which can also be driven on board via the gang plank.

The Alegria is available for charter; it has a capacity of 50 cabins (100 clients) and can sail in Holland, Belgium and the scenic German Rhine Valley as far as Rudesheim

This really is a marvellous opportunity to pioneer or indeed “corner the market” in disabled river cruising
